Damn you Michael Miller and your fabrics what I must buy all of!!!!

Stupid - can't sleep - stupid.
So much to accomplish this month. There are just not enough hours in the day.
Making progress on making the crib bedding. Slowly but surely.
The baby room is now devoid of furniture.
Need to paint and put up crown molding.
Need to clean the house from top to bottom.
The dogs are having flea problems which need to be taken care of.
Work is stressfully busy lately. And will continue to be, probably up to my due date.
We're not going to my company Christmas party for myriad and sundry reasons.
Misc repairs to be done around the house.
My back hurts unbearably if I sew for more than a few hours.
I'm starving right now, but I know that if I eat something the heartburn will keep me up.
As neat as my sewing room was a couple of weeks ago, it has now accumulated more crap and become messy again.
Laundry.
Bleh.

Like the ideas I had for my wedding decor, I am having trouble finding things to go with my choice of nursery decor.

I wanted my wedding to be very cherry blossom/serene Japanese feel. At the time I found very little (and what I did find was ridiculously expensive) to go with that feel so I had to make most of my stuff.
Now you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a cherry blossom wedding invitation or guest book.

Well, my nursery is going to be robots. Just try and find any stuff with cute robots. There is some stuff, but again, ridiculously expensive. So, again, I have to make alot of it from scratch.
But mark my words, give it a year and there will be robot themed nursery stuff EVERYWHERE!

It's a hard life for a trendsetter. ;)

Long day of shopping yesterday, laundry, house cleaning and yardwork today makes AnnFro a sore and tired girl.
But, feeling very accomplished. Haven't finished cleaning the living room but I will get back to it after pelmen78 gets home with dinner.

Sex and sunshine, nature's antidepressants!

Today is boss's day. My boss decided to take the day off (not related to boss's day) as he did on his birthday. He is preventing us from celebrating him and it is getting on my nerves. I like doing nice things for people and making them feel appreciated. And, if there is anyone I appreciate in my life it's him. He's made alot possible in my life.
Oh well, maybe I'll sneak him a card on Monday anyway. :)

So far the baby is doing good. He has been very active for the past week. It's really cool feeling him move around. It's also odd to be carrying on a conversation with him wigglin' around.
My mom bought me my shower gift already. She got me a Pack N Play. I'm excited about having it but I kinda wish she wouldn't do that cause I know she really can't afford it.

I wish I was having a quiet weekend but mom has to come over to use my sewing machine. I hope she can get everything done in one day. I just wanted to chill and get laundry done. Ugh... so much laundry.

Ya know I love my job. It's challenging at times, it pays well, my coworkers are great, and the atmosphere is great also.
But lately I have been so bored. My boss likes to keep me freed up and flexible for when he needs me. But, he is out of town so much lately, that I have nothing to do but sit here and read the internet. (I know, woe is me, how will I ever survive.)
Well I kinda long for the deadline induced fast pace of the past. When I was the only admin and I got to do everything. Like get stuff ready for meetings and organize project books. But now I have a few project related things to do each week and the rest is just bleh.

I know it could be so much worse, but that doesn't make me any less bored right now.

So the baby was indeed too shy to "show us the goods" last Friday. So we don't know the gender yet. *pout*
I've looked at the video from the ultrasound many times and every time I think I see boy parts. But who knows, I'm certainly no U/S technician.

But otherwise the baby looks good, heartrate good and they kept my due date at Feb 12th. I have a feeling that it might be moved out a bit but we will find that out later.

They're going to test my sugar next time I go, I'm worried about gestational diabetes like all overweight pregnant girls. But hopefully it will be ok. I am trying to limit my carbs a bit. Not alot, just a bit to try and keep it stable. It's a bummer cause the only thing I've felt like eating is chips and salsa which is LOADED with carbs. But c'est la vie!

So, they say that pregnancy causes really vivid dreaming. I will usually wake up after one of my dreams in the middle of the night and not be able to go back to sleep for 1 - 3 hours which totally sucks.
Just to give you some insight into what my nights are like right now the following are my dreams from last night.

The only really nightmarish one was one where these chunks of water were falling from the sky. They were each about the size of a car. We were able to pump alot of the water out but then for some reason we were no longer able to do that. I woke up around the time that we were going to be drowning.
Then, in the next dream, I finally gave birth... to a puppy. (Thanks Ken for putting that one in my head) But I continued to treat it like a human infant because I figured next time we would get it right? I dunno.
Then, I dreamt that my mother and I, instead of moving to Birmingham from California, moved to South Carolina. But we had plenty of money for the move unlike our actual move 10 years ago. And she had a job waiting for her there. Right before I woke up I remember being excited because we were going to get such good seafood in South Carolina.

So Ken and I weren't going to go to my company Christmas party in New Orleans this year due to me being 7 months pregnant at the time.
We still might not go depending on how everything is going.
But since he didn't want to drive and a 7 month prego woman really shouldn't fly I got the idea to take the train.
It's about the same price to get a tiny private "roomette" on the train as it is to fly. It's about a 7 hour trip, about an hour longer than driving but without the stress.
I'm totally psyched about it. It's almost 5 months away but I'm really obsessing over it.

I've never been on a train before, anyone have any tips/stories to share?

Hi everybody (or all 4 people that actually read LJ these days).
My husband pelmen78 just had his gallbladder out and is doing well except for we think he has an ear infection. Hopefully get that cleared up quickly.
In other news, work is stable if boring. I am refusing to give in to some folks' drama in the office and that makes for quieter days.
Twitter is my main outlet right now, but don't feel neglected cause I tweet about as much as I post on here.
My in-laws will be here for a short visit this weekend. I don't think we have any major plans and looking at the events going on in the 'Ham I don't see a whole lot to do. Gotta clean the house though. I have really been slacking ALOT on that and need to get back to my weekly touch-ups that keeps the house looking good.
Ken bought himself a Wii about a month ago. He loves it, I haven't played on it that much yet, but it looks like fun. He also bought me a DS which I have been wearing out. (I highly recommend NinjaTown)

For the past three weeks, my boss has been so busy that he has not even been able to give me any work to do. So I do little stuff here and there. I'm just bored out of my mind and a little cranky about it.
I've been trying to keep myself occupied but I'm running out of things to do.

This day went from shitty to decent.
One of our clients pissed me off earlier and put me on the defensive. You know that when I go all defensive that you've hit a nerve. Not like there is anything I can do about it, he's a client.
So that put me in a bad mood. But I've come out of it mostly since then.

Caught the mouse that was seen in our house. I am convinced that my sister and her family brought it with her and that it was the only one.
1. In living there for 8 months we had never seen any sign of mice.
2. The first sighting was actually by my sister so it was in the house after they arrived.
3. It started in my sewing room, where my mother was sleeping after traveling up with my sister.
4. Since we caught it we haven't seen any sign of others.
So, we are keeping our fingers crossed that that was the only one. We might be deluding ourselves, but only time will tell.

Party planning for the birthday party of the year. All the Gemini's and the Taurus' birthday bash will be held at our house this year. That ought to be interesting. I'm excited about it though.

Otherwise, my life is pretty boring and domestic. That's not a bad thing.

Blah, bored at work today. Been goofing off alot. Tomorrow will not be so slow so I am taking advantage of it now.

Good morning.
My sister Shannon, her husband Rick and my nephew Collin arrived in town with my mother last evening. They will be staying with us until Saturday. I am really looking forward to the visit.

The storm last night made Daisy freak out until 2 AM, thus keeping Ken up. Then when the power went off at 2:30, my mom couldn't sleep because her CPAP machine was out of commission. Then she woke me up at 5 thinking it was 6 and past time for me to get up. It is unfortunate that their first day in my house is spent with no electricity. AL Power says it'll be restored by 2:30. Not so sure about that considering the extent of the outages in the Bham area.
I just heard that they are at IHOP getting breakfast. I think they'll be hanging out with my aunt this morning and heading over to visit my cousins family this afternoon. His son and Collin are close in age and are friends.

I can hopefully bust out of work early today. I have to be here tomorrow and most if not all of Wednesday, but after that I'll be off for a long weekend with the family.
Haven't seen them since our wedding over three years ago. Conversation last night was comfortable and fun. I think it will a good week.

Ringo was locked up in the basement last night. I'm actually surprised that he didn't bark or anything. I know that the storm scared him. We are mainly worried about him and Collin. He doesn't deal well with children most of the time and they also brought their dog too. So, until we have daylight and good weather for an outside introduction, he will be staying down there. It was very sad this morning when I opened the door and realized he had slept at the top of the stairs. I felt really bad. I think that tonight we will bring him up so that he can sleep in the bedroom with us.

In other news, the house looks its best since we moved in. I finally got my sewing room presentable if not organized, finished several projects around the house, and hung some art on the walls. It makes me happy.
